Drop off donations at the church courtyard

Most of us have been hit economically during this time, but that should not keep us from giving — Sometimes giving is sacrificial. We are partnering with Corona Norco Settlement House because they help low-income people in our area who are struggling. They need:

  • Non-perishable food items for their pantry, i.e. beans, rice, cereal, canned meat, canned fish, canned vegetables, canned fruit, etc.
  • Pop-top cans for homeless bagged lunches, i.e. canned pasta dinners, canned fruit, canned meat, canned tuna.
  • Their greatest needs right now are cereal, peanut butter, rice, beans (cans or bags).

If you have a truck, let us know. We need 2 trucks to deliver the goods at 11am.

During this time when we aren’t gathering, let me remind you of some of the benefits:

  • The church has left the building! This is a great time to emphasize ministering to others. Giving of food to a solid organization like the Settlement House is a great way to bless our community while we are out of the building!
  • Another benefit to the effort is that it is a great opportunity to connect with your neighbors! Let them know that we are doing a food drive. Many people in our culture have expectations of churches, and one of those expectations is that we are out serving those who are low-income and struggling.  You can let them know that on May 16, your church—Olive Branch—is doing just that AND we could use their help!

God has blessed us to be a blessing. We have a great opportunity before us to have a powerful impact by coming together as a church and being a tangible blessing. Please join us—and invite others to join us!
